Basement Sports Cards - Dibbs Drop MLB Opening Day Edition April 1st

BIG DOG NATION

Today we are going to cover the two Dibbs drops on April 1st (no this is no joke) on opening day of the baseball season. We saw some heavy hitters earlier this week but Dibbs saved the big guns for today.

2009 Bowman Chrome Mike Trout
X-Fractor Auto /225 BGS 9.5
$70,000.00

Mike Trout has been the face of the MLB for nearly the last 10 years winning 3 AL MVPS and a silver slugger award in all but one season (2017) since his rookie year in 2012. His rookie cards are the most valuable in the MLB for active players today and this one is one of his most well known card. The starting value is already a little higher than what we would anticipate and with the upcoming young talent in the league with more marketable stars like Yelich, Acuna, Betts, Tatis and Soto, we are liking this card but not in love with it at its opening market price. If it drops we will certainly be trying to get in on some shares of this.

Buying Confidence: 6.7

2016 Bowman Chrome Juan Soto
Green Refractor Auto /99 BGS 9.5
$16,500.00

As discussed above and earlier this week, we are in a rare time in the MLB where there are three young superstars that are ready to take over baseball like we haven't seen in ages. Although Soto has some tuning up to do with the glove, his bat more than makes up for it. The opening price of this card is right in line with market average and more importantly Soto is a player whos popularity and stats should only go up.

Buying Confidence: 8.6
